Why Advance Plan

Why Advance Plan?

You live a unique life. So when the inevitable happens, don’t you want your goodbye to reflect your personal brand and what you value most?

There’s so many options to consider and so many decisions to make. You don’t want to have to deal with this on your deathbed, or die without a Goodbye Plan so your loved ones have to scramble and guess while grieving. Waiting also could mean less time to find what you like best, and higher prices.

Advance planning your own death isn’t morbid; it’s sensible and even life affirming. Plus, there’s research showing how a positive end of life experience relates to better grief management among the bereaved, so planning also is an act of love.

And if you’re designated as someone’s Executor and/or Funeral Agent, their Goodbye Plan can be the roadmap you’ll need to access their key documents and account information to settle their estate, and to honor their final wishes.

The time to prepare and plan is before there's a medical or cognitive crisis, or before the hourglass is about to run out. Don't leave the decisions for others to make, especially when the time may be limited and stressful, and disagreement could cause conflict.

Whether you are 25, 52 or 92, tomorrow is not promised. Stop procrastinating and start planning now. Being prepared will give you peace of mind, and may make death less scary for you when it becomes proximate because you’ve done a mental dress rehearsal.

It also can motivate you to live each day with greater purpose and gratitude, and thrive backwards!
